Myelination of axons The speed of the action potential can vary depending on if the axon is myelinated or not. GABA binds to and activate a receptor subtype called GABA A receptor, which belongs to the group of ligand-gated ion channels or ionotropic receptors. Could you briefly describe these receptors?
