Why are there so many different parts to our brain? Each part has a different purpose – reading, memory, etc. 2. What is a neuron? A nerve cell is called a neuron. 3. How do the neurons make a network? They connect to make a path from all the parts to the spinal cord and brain. 4. What is the spinal cord made of? Neurons make nerve tissue and the spinal cord is nerve tissue, so neurons make the spinal cord. 5. Name one thing the brain does not control. None – the brain controls EVERYTHING 6. Before an impulse can get to the brain, which organ must it pass through? Spinal cord 7. How do you know if your shoes hurt your feet? The neurons in your feet send a message to the brain. The brain lets you know it is your feet that hurt and that it hurts where your shoes are touching it. Your brain reasons that since your feet hurt where your shoes are touching them, your shoes are hurting your feet. 8. Does our brain control the blood that is flowing to the brain? Yes – our brain controls EVERYTHING 9. Why must blood flow to the brain? Blood carries the food and oxygen to the brain cells and the cell waste out of the brain. 10.What system controls the most powerful computer ever?
