AP Biology Cell Poster
Due Date: SEPTEMBER 25, 2012
Weight: MAJOR GRADE
Procedure:
1. Choose an animal or plant cell to do your poster on. Select 15 cell organelles or
cell structures from the list at the bottom of this page that pertain to this type of
cell. You can ONLY use those that belong to that type of cell.
2. (15 pts) On one side of your poster, you must draw your chosen cell and draw 15
selected cell organelles/cell structures. Label all cellular structures.
3. (15 pts) On the other side of the poster, you may draw or cut out
internet/magazine pictures of 15 structures WITHIN a CITY, SCHOOL,
HUMAN BODY, FACTORY, ETC… that relate to the function of your chosen
cell structure/function. Label all city structures.
4. (50 pts) Create a chart that resembles the chart below on a separate sheet of paper
(you may type it or write it on notebook paper). You will staple this to your
poster. It must include all 15 chosen items.
Cell Structure: Animal Cell
EXAMPLE:
Nucleus
Comparison Structure: City
EXAMPLE:
Mayor
Justification
EXAMPLE:
The nucleus is in charge of
the cell. The mayor is in
charge of the city.
5. (10 pts) On the side of the poster that has your 15 labeled comparison structures,
you should also label each of these structures with the cell structure/organelle that
you compared it to. Example: The mayor has a label that says both mayor AND
nucleus.
6. (5 pts) Title your poster: _________ Cell Compared to _______________
(Example: Animal Cell Compared to City)
7. (5 pts) Check to make sure your poster is neat and handwriting is legible.
