Cell Analogy Project

An analogy is defined as a “resemblance in some particulars between things otherwise unlike”
(Webster’s New Collegiate Dictionary).
For this project, you are going to create analogies for either the structure or function of various
cellular organelles and structures. These analogies will be between cell parts and everyday
household items.
Requirements:

Draw/Print a picture of a cell on poster board or on an interactive poster program; the cell
must be clearly identified as plant, animal, or bacteria.
______10 pts.

Inside the cell, you must have the appropriate labeled organelles/structures.
______10 pts.

Select 15 pictures to include on your poster AND write an analogy comparing that object to a
cell part’s structure or function. (Analogies must be typed.)
______30 pts.

You will present your poster and analogies in class on the due date.
______10 pts.
______/60 pts. total
Note:
 If you choose to work with a partner, you must select 20 analogies.
