Cell Membrane Assessment You can choose 1 option to demonstrate your proficiency in understanding cell membranes. Option 1- Create, complete, and video tape an experiment using eggs to demonstrate osmosis. Option 2- Create a unit outline as if you were a teacher, teaching about the cell membrane. Option 3- Create a WORKING model of a cell membrane. All information for each assignment can be found in your notes and assignments from this unit. There will be no retakes/redos for this assessment. All assessments are due Friday 01/06/2017. Option 1 Directions and RubricI will provide you with the basic structure of the lab you must complete. All lab materials must be provided by you and completed at home. EVERY STEP of the experiment must be recorded and made into a video, including the analysis and conclusion. 0 1 2 3 No video, experiment in video is not complete Student shows a basic understanding of osmosis and the cell membrane by… accurately describing most structures and their functions in the cell membrane accurately describing most of the properties of the cell membrane accurately describing osmosis Student shows proficient understanding of osmosis and the cell membrane by… accurately describing all structures and their functions in the cell membrane accurately describing all of the properties of the cell membrane accurately describing osmosis and other forms of passive transport as well as active transport Student shows exemplary understanding of osmosis and the cell membrane by… accurately describing all structures and their functions in the cell membrane accurately describing all of the properties of the cell membrane accurately describing osmosis and other forms of passive transport as well as active transport demonstrating the ability to connect this learning to real life situations Option 2 Directions and RubricI will provide you with the basic structure of a unit plan that you must complete. All activities must connect to each other and make sense in the flow of the unit. For each activity you must provide supple- mentary material, ie. Your lesson for day 1 is a worksheet, you must submit a worksheet and the answer key. The end of the unit must contain an end of the unit assessment that ties all learning objectives together. Each activity should be engaging for students. 0 1 No unit plan and/or No supplementary material And/or Does not teach about cell membranes Student shows a basic understanding of osmosis and the cell membrane by… accurately teaching most structures and their functions in the cell membrane accurately teaching most of the properties of the cell membrane accurately teaching osmosis 2 3 Student shows proficient Student shows exemplary ununderstanding of osmosis derstanding of osmosis and and the cell membrane the cell membrane by… by… accurately teaching all structures and their accurately teaching all structures functions in the cell and their functions membrane in the cell mem accurately teaching all brane of the properties of the accurately teachcell membrane ing all of the prop accurately teaching oserties of the cell mosis and other forms membrane of passive transport as accurately teachwell as active transport ing osmosis and teaching about how the other forms of pascontent connects to real sive transport as life situations well as active transport Option 3 Directions and RubricYou can use whatever you want to create your working model of a cell membrane. Working means that it is able to demonstrate all of the forms of transport somehow. All materials must be provided by you. 0 No model and/or Does not work 1 2 Student shows a basic Student shows proficient understanding of osmosis understanding of osmosis and the cell membrane and the cell membrane by… by… accurately represent accurately repreing all structures and senting most structheir functions in the tures and their cell membrane functions in the accurately representcell membrane ing all of the proper accurately repreties of the cell memsenting most of the brane properties of the accurately representcell membrane ing osmosis and accurately repreother forms of passenting osmosis sive transport as well as active transport 3 Student shows exemplary understanding of osmosis and the cell membrane by… accurately representing all structures and their functions in the cell membrane accurately representing all of the properties of the cell membrane accurately representing osmosis and other forms of passive transport as well as active transport relating the model to real life situations
