How I’ll Show What I Know about Cells: Due Wednesday, Oct. 6th (no late projects accepted)
To show what I’ve learned about eukaryotic cell parts, I will make a cell part analogy poster. In the
center of the poster, I will draw and label a plant or animal cell. I will use colorful pictures from the
internet or magazines to illustrate the analogy for each part. I will explain the analogy in a brief
sentence. For example, “The nucleus is like a brain because it controls all the cell’s processes and the
brain controls all the body’s processes.” I will put only the appropriate organelles in my cell (plants
don’t have centrioles, animals don’t have cell walls or chloroplasts…).
Cell parts that must be included (as appropriate):
ribosomes
mitochondria chloroplast
cytoplasm
nucleus
cell membrane
vacuole
centriole
cell wall
Grading
Neat, colorful drawing of plant/animal cell in middle of poster (20 points possible)
All appropriate cell parts included and labeled
(30 points possible)
Accurate, explained & illustrated analogies
(30 points possible)
Professional, creative design of project
(15 points possible)
Your name on project
(5 points possible)
Earned
