3-D Cell Model Evaluation Rubric Cells and the Cell Cycle Name(s): Class period: Date: Score: This rubric is used to verify specific tasks performed when constructing this model. If the task has been successfully completed with quality, all points are awarded; poor quality work will reduce the scores at instructor’s discretion. No points are awar ded if the task is not complete. Category Craftsmanship 23 pts Scoring Criteria Model cell meets size requirements as stated in directions. No smaller than 4" x 6", and no larger than 9" x 12". 6 The model is 3 dimensional. 6 Model stays together. Appropriate materials are used: Use clear drying glue. Avoid tape, pins and staples. 6 Contained in a box (shoe box or similar) 5 Type of cell, student name, class, date are found on both key and model 3 Identification, key & Accurate identification key/legend is provide descriptions 18 pts Accurate description of the function of each organelle is provide as part of the key/legend (check carefully) Plant or Animal or prokaryotic Cell parts 26 pts Cell shape 5 pts Quality of project 10 points Score Points 10 16 Plant: ribosome’s, Golgi apparatus, mitochondria, chloroplast, peroxisome 10 Animal: cell membrane, cytoplasm, nucleus, nucleolus, transport vesicle, lysosome, E.R. rough & smooth 16 Animal: ribosome’s, Golgi apparatus, mitochondria, cytoskeleton, centrioles 10 Prokaryotic: capsule (5), cell wall (4) & membrane (4), flagella, pili (cilia) (4), ribosome’s(4) , nucleoid region (DNA) (5), 26 Cells overall shape corresponds with type of cell: plant, animal, prokaryotic 5 Total Points Teacher Evaluation 5 Plant: cell wall & membrane, cytoplasm, nucleus, nucleolus, large central vacuole, E.R. rough & smooth Honors standard of quality: good appearance & detail, all written material is free of any spelling, grammar or punctuation errors. Student Evaluation 10 82 Self-evaluation Students are expected to honestly evaluate their own work. If the difference between the student evaluation and the teacher evaluation is more than 10 points, 5 points will be deducted from the teacher's score when the grade is recorded. Deadline All assignments are expected to be completed by the assigned deadline. No credit will be given after this time.
