Transcript
Complete each task. Check off task as you complete.
Step One:
_____ Create a fact card for each organelle. Put the name of the organelle at the top of the index card.
List the nickname of the organelle. List the primary function of the organelle. Information must
be written in your own words. Things to include are: kind of cell it is found in, structure,
primary function and nickname.
Organelle Check Off List:
nucleus
cytoplasm
nucleolus
vacuole
mitochondria
cell wall
cell membrane
endoplasmic reticulum
ribosomes
golgi complex
lysosomes
chloroplasts
Step Two:
_____ Create animal cell diagram. (Get cell background from me.) Glue animal cell on to poster
board. Add each organelle. You can use paper, or any of the materials provided to represent
each organelle.
Animal Cell Organelle Check Off List:
nucleus
cytoplasm
vacuole
mitochondria
nucleolus
cell membrane
endoplasmic reticulum
ribosomes
golgi complex
lysosomes
Step Three:
_____ Create a key for your animal cell organelles. (Get a key from me.) Draw a picture of what your
organelle looks like in the box, color exactly the same as it is on your diagram. Write the name
of the organelle next to the square. Do this for each organelle. Key should represent each
organelle on your diagram.
Step Four:
_____ Create plant cell diagram. (Get cell background from me.) Glue plant cell on to poster board.
Add each organelle. You can use paper, or any of the materials provided to represent each
organelle.
Plant Cell Organelle Check Off List:
nucleus

chloroplasts
Step Five:
_____ Create a key for your plant cell organelles. (Get a key from me.) Draw a picture of what your
organelle looks like in the box, color exactly the same as it is on your diagram. Write the name
of the organelle next to the square. Do this for each organelle. Key should represent each
organelle on your diagram.
Step Six: Put Poster Together.
(Arrange your final project, make sure to include everything)
~ Your poster must include:
_____ Twelve index cards. One for each organelle, with name and primary function.
_____ Animal cell diagram with organelles. Animal cell organelle key.
_____ Plant cell diagram with organelles. Plant cell organelle key.
