Transcript
Grade 8 Science - Cell Analogy
Your task is to demonstrate your vast knowledge of cell organelle function, structure
and size.
A Cellular Story
Time to put on that creative writing hat! You need to show off your understanding of
cell structure through story, a comic, a map, or any other ways you think would be
best! Use the story as a vehicle to explain the physical structure of each organelle,
how big they are compared to the other organelles and their function within a plant
or animal cell.
A few “off the top of my head” ideas:
 Your main character is adventuring inside a cell.
 Your main character is a doctor, trying to diagnose a patient with a cellular
problem.
 Your main characters are organelles, having some sort of “self-help group”
meeting.
Organelles:
 Cell wall (plant cell only)
 Chloroplasts (plant cell only)
 Cell membrane
 Nucleus
 Cytoplasm
 Golgi apparatus
 Ribosome
 Endoplasmic Reticulum
 Vacuole
 Mitochondria
 Lysosome
