If project is completed by this date, project may be stored in classroom for presentation and grading on due date listed above. To attain a grade of A on project that is worth 4 grades: 1. Cell project must be of an animal or plant cell 2. Model of cell must be created as a 3-D model (not 2-D) 3. All the organelles listed below must be included: a. Cell membrane b. Cell wall if plant cell c. Nucleus d. Nucleolus (part of the inner nucleus where ribosomes are synthesized e. Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum (RER) f. Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum (SER) g. Ribosomes on ER and free ribosomes h. Golgi apparatus / complex i. Vacuole if plant cell j. Mitochondria k. Chloroplast if plant cell 4. All organelles must be labaled 5. Model must include some sort of stand 6. Model must include student name and period on reverse side To attain a grade of A on project questions which are worth 4 grades: 1. Student must be able to name each organelle and explain the function of each organelle. 2. The Student must be able to explain the path within the cell from DNA in nucleus to protein product. Supplies for project can be purchased at any place of choice. Some suggested arts and craft stores include Micheal’s, Pearls, and Walmart might have some supplies. Some material normally used include modeling clay, Styrofoam, foam paper, cardboard, glue, markers, paint, tooth picks, etc. Edible materials are NOT to be used.
