Transcription/Translation foldable Fold your paper so the two ends meet in the middle. Label Transcription on one side and Translation on the other. Transcription • WHAT? DNA is transcribed into mRNA. That means I am copying DNA and making mRNA. • Location? Nucleus • Why? DNA cannot leave the nucleus, so the messenger RNA has to take the nucleotide sequence to the ribosome to make proteins. Cut out the picture below. Label and color the DNA blue and the mRNA red. Translation What? – mRNA nucleotide code is translated into an amino acid sequence to make a protein.
