Transcript
Spinal nerves of the peripheral nervous system are connected to the spinal cord by anterior roots (sensory neurons) and posterior roots (motor neurons)
within the intervertebral foramen. On exiting the spinal column, the spinal nerve splits into dorsal and ventral rami. Dorsal rami typically innervate muscles,
skin, and sensory receptors of the head, neck, and back. Ventral rami often unite to form plexus, such as the brachial plexus before innervating ventral
structures.
