7th Grade Cell Project
Directions:
- Make two models of a cell. Make sure to include a title on your project.
-
One should resemble a plant cell and one should resemble an animal cell. Develop a legend or key to label each organelle (part)
of the cell. (You must include all of the organelles that we have identified in our notes.)This legend should also include the
function of each part of the cell (refer to your notes).
-
You can use cloth, clay, foam, pasta, or any other material you can think of, etc. (Make sure the material is not perishable)
-
Next, using a Venn diagram or chart, state the similarities and differences between animal and plant cells.
-
Good luck and be creative 
Due Date: February 23, 2016

Labels
Every item that needs to be clearly
identified has a label. It is clear
which label goes with which
structure. Be sure to list the
function of each part.
Develop a table or diagram to list
the similarities and differences of
each cell.
95% or more of the assigned
structure are drawn accurately and
are recognizable. All structures are
labeled accurately.
Almost all items (90%) that need to be
identified have labels. It is clear
which label goes with which structure.
Be sure to list the function of each
part.
Develop a table or diagram to list the
similarities and differences of each
cell.
94%-85% of the assigned structures
are drawn accurately and are all
recognizable. All structures are
labeled accurately.
Most items (75%-89%) that
need to be identified have
labels. It is clear which label
goes with which structure.
Less than 75% of the items
that need to be identified
have labels or it is not clear
which labels goes with the
item.
More than 85% of the
assigned structures are
drawn accurately and more
than 85% of structures are
labeled accurately.
Less than 85% of the
structures are drawn AND/OR
labeled accurately.
All words are spelled correctly in the
title, labels and description of
function.
All common words are spelled
correctly in the title, labels and
description. 1-2 scientific words may
be misspelled.
75% of the words are spelled
correctly in the title, labels
and description.
Fewer than 80’% of the words
are correctly in the title,
labels and descriptions.
