Crescendo is building an exciting portfolio of novel oncology products in areas of high unmet need, including both Humabody Drug Conjugates (HDCs) and novel multispecific Immuno-Oncology modulators that leverage the advantages of the Humabody format. The company is now looking for a talented, creative and motivated molecular and cell biologist to join the team. The successful candidate will join active drug discovery programmes and can expect to be involved with a broad range of different activities but particularly: Building phage libraries derived from our transgenic mouse platform Phage display; isolation of lead Humabody VH; lead optimisation Vector design and construction, transfection of mammalian cells, protein production Generation of clonal cell lines with constitutive or inducible transgene expression Engineering of custom cell lines Candidates will also be expected to be proactive in contributing previous experience to reviewing and driving process optimisation. Although training will be given in all aspects of the role, applications are particularly encouraged from scientists with the following skills: Essential: Molecular biology: e.g. RNA extraction, cDNA preparation, PCR, cloning, mutagenesis, genomic DNA extraction, genotyping, protein purification, Western blot Cell culture, using a range of cell types Excellent sterile technique An interest in cell engineering and new technologies Desirable: Phage display, selection and screening Antibody sequence analysis Flow cytometry Genetic manipulation of cells in vitro Use of genome databases Person Specification PhD qualification or equivalent Excellent laboratory skills Highly organised with good attention to detail Flexible and pro-active with a willingness to tackle both new and routine tasks Good communicator Good team worker In addition, candidates will also be expected to: Co-ordinate and co-operate with other personnel over the day to day running of the laboratory.
