What is Climate Change?
A Climate change is a long change of weather patterns over time
periods that go from decades to centuries, or millenniums. It may be
a change of the weather condition or a change in the dispersion of
weather with respect to an average , for example, greater or fewer
weather events. Climate change may be limited to a specific region
or occur in the whole planet
Climate Changes: Causes
Natural Causes:
• Climate changes occur influenced by nature or humans.
• Some natural causes are:
•
•
•
•
•
Volcanic Eruptions
Ocean Current
The Earth Tilt
Meteorites
Continental Drifts
Climate Changes: Global Warming
Human Causes:
• When climate changes occur influenced by humans it is called global
warming.
• Global warming is the increase in the temperature of the Earth’s air and
oceans since the 20th century and its projected continuation.
• Some human causes of global warming are:
•
•
•
•
•
Wildfires
Carbon emissions from gasoline- burning cars, buses and trucks.
Cut of trees during CO2 radiation.
Greenhouse Gases.
Burning of fossil fuels
Climate Changes: Effects
Effects of climate changes:
•
•
•
•
•
Glaciers and sea ice are melting.
Sea water levels are increasing.
We won’t have agricultural food.
Droughts are increasing.
We will get each century ¼ warmer.
Effects of Climate Changes in Peru:
• In the Mantaro Valley the temperature rose 0.69 degrees
Celsius.
• In the south , there is less rain.
• In the north, there is more rain.
• We are going to have less water.
Survey Results
Climate Changes: Our Responsability
What we can do:
•
•
•
•
•
•
Ride bicycles or skates instead of cars.
Turn off the light if we do not need it.
Use both sides of paper.
Recycle
Turn off electronic devices.
Plant trees in your home.
Group Actions
• We put four different boxes inside the classrooms to recycle paper,
plastic, organic things and glass.
• We are going to replicate this idea in a public school from La Molina,
called Aurelio Miro Quesada.
• Finally with the money we collect from the sale of plastic we are
going to plant trees in our homes.
Conclusion
• Human beings are the main cause of climate changes.
• In order to stop Climate Changes humanity, particularly our
generations, need to take action to preserve our planet for us and
for our future generations.
• In Peru we need to plant more trees and take care of the drinking
water, and avoid cutting down the trees.
• The actions that we take need to be permanent, so they have a
positive impact in the world.
