Environment and weather Tereza Culková Waether of our planet Spring The time when nature awakes. In the beginning of spring the weather is cold but then the temperature rises. Mostly it‘s a higher intensity of rainfall or even snowfall. There are often storms. Snow melts and often causes floods. In spring the most crops are being planted. Summer The warmest season. Intense sun shine dries up the dirt and can cause drought. This can have an intense impact on agriculture. Rains are very rare. The air is less humid, it‘s dry. Fall / Autumn The rainfall is very intense. The days are windy. If they are not, water droplets create mist. Many plants die and trees lose their leaves. The leaves then decompose during the winter and serve as moisture in spring. At the end of Autumn the weather becomes cold. Rime starts to appear. Winter In winter the temperature is mostly under 0 degrees. It snows. The water freezes. The streets and roads are full of slippery ice. Water surfaces freeze and so holes have to be created in the ice crusts of ponds. Many people suffer of depression because the most of birds have migrated. What affects weather and environment • • • • • • Global warming (CO2; lack of trees) Volcano eruptions (ex. dust) Tsunami (litospheric plates get stuck) Acid rain (acid steam combines with rain) Chopping down forests much more… Enviromental problems • • • • • • • • • Acid Rain Air Pollution Global Warming (greenhouse effect) Hazardous Waste Ozone Depletion Smog Water Pollution Overpopulation Rain Forest Destruction. In conclusion… It‘s very important to remember that everything we do affects the future environment. The mankind is able to create or destroy everything, and now it‘s our turn. You hear it all day long – plant trees, sort your waste, buy solar panels… Will you?
