Some
Australian
industries
may
be
‘discomforted’ by stronger action on climate
change (and) the cost to the Australian
economy was likely to be higher (than that to
other
countries)
due
to
(Australia’s)
dependence on fossil fuels.
(However), over a period of time some of
these measures would actually result in more
jobs being created.

Making deep emission cuts would shave (only)
about 0.12 per cent a year off global economic
growth to 2030.
That would mean most people would keep
getting richer (albeit) at a slightly slower pace,
while greatly reducing the risk of catastrophic
damage to the planet.
