Khan 1 Shafiq Khan Carolyn L. Holloway English 2010 18 February 2015 What causes global warming and climate to change that affects human health? According to the EPA our earth is heating up. The earth’s temperature has been increased by 1.4 degrees. These small changes in the temperature can have some great impact on the climate and weather. Many places have been through rainfall, droughts, and floods because of this issue. The oceans have also experienced these big changes as oceans cover approximately about 70 percent of earth’s surface. Most likely storms are to occur in oceans because of the climate that Is changing making difficulties for people traveling through ships and delaying hours waiting for good weather. The reason for climate change is that the temperature is fluctuating; rising up and down that’s causing the illness. The weather change is affecting humans’ health on this planet. The hotter temperatures can increase unhealthy air and water pollutants. Differences in temperature could cause the Precipitation levels to rise and intense events that have a chance in spreading the diseases. The chances of getting a food-borne disease is common because it increases the case of salmonella Khan 1 poisoning and food poisoning because of that there are higher changes for the bacteria to develop faster in the warmer climates. In rare cases some of the people developed the west Nile virus caused by the changes in Vector Ecology. The chart seen here below is provided by the U.S. Public Health showing the various factors on how it affects health. This chart shows how people are affected dating from 2010 to 2030. Khan 1 This picture exemplifies the glaciers melting away and if it does continue to melt then it will leave many who rely on the source of water as this is the energy source we rely on. According to the data the EPA came up with these factors: Sun setting over a city on a hot day. Source: EPA (2010). This image is to illustrate that when its sunset it usually get cooler but not in this particular city because it is showing that type of change in climate in whereas some are cooler or hotter than other cities. The heat wave in this city is an increased temperature that outdoor activities are not safe and this will impact the body because of the thermal radiation. Khan 1 View enlarged image The number of 100-degree days per year is projected to increase. The impacts of climate change on health will depend on many factors. These factors include the effectiveness of a community's public health and safety systems to address or prepare for the risk and the behavior, age, gender, and economic status of individuals affected. Impacts will likely vary by region, the sensitivity of populations, the extent and length of exposure to climate change impacts, and society's ability to adapt to change. Although the United States has well-developed public health systems (compared with those of many developing countries), climate change will still likely affect many Americans. In addition, the impacts of climate change on public health around the globe could have important consequences for the United States. For example, more frequent and intense storms may require more disaster relief and declines in agriculture may increase food shortages. The data that that Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has collected is Khan 1 known to be the most accurate information as of now. How can we help to avoid the climate and global changes issues? What we can do are some simple tasks that require attention, Such as a replacing a light bulb because this can help in reducing the greenhouse gas emissions. The second thing to do is to power down electronics when it’s not in use. The last two are recycling and using less water this Can help in protecting the climate that causes air pollution and water pollution to build up. Many people today still argue that climate change is not real while some others think it is real and the way it’s affecting health in general. As far as the climatologists, they have known that climate change is a serious issue that’s concerning many others about their health. The Climatologists have that type of experience, showing the graphs from early 1900s to present just to see how climate has been changing throughout the world. Khan 1 Works Cited Allianz Knowledge."
