Cellular Comic Book
November 11, 2013
Project: Comic book to demonstrate the students understanding of cellular
structure and function to include: prokaryotes, eukaryotes, plant and
animal cells. This should include all organelles found within the different
types of cells.
- Students are asked to prepare a comic book in comic book format that
tells a story of the differences and similarities between cell types as well
as the function of cellular components (organelles).
- The comic book should have a story line that allows the reader to gain a
thorough understanding of the concepts related cells, their functions and
their internal organization. The story should include 6 total concepts from
the cellular fact sheet (2 yesterday, 2 today, 2 tomorrow)
- Drawings within the book must be hand-drawn – NO Exceptions.
- Overall text for the comic book may be typed if desired.
- Final product must be “comic book” in nature.
- The book must tell a story and be entertaining.
- The book must contain factual information about cells.
- Imags in the book must be colored.
- Book must have Cover, Title and Table of Contents.
Similarities/ Differences between the cell types must be identified
Examples of organisms that use them
Structure and function of each of the organelles

Projects
The goal of this project is to allow students to utilize alternative formats to
express their understanding of a complex subject. Students will be graded
on their final presentation, but the majority of the grade will reflect the
student’s ability to creatively relay factual information about cells, their
structures, diversity and functions.
