Nova Scotia Climate Change Adaptation Fund (CCAF) 2013-14 ABOUT Are you seeking financial aid to help identify the potential impacts of climate change on your organization? Do you have a project idea to make your community better prepared for change? The Climate Change Adaptation Fund (CCAF) is designed to help Nova Scotians get ready for the impacts of climate change and the 2013 – 2014 Call for Proposals is now open. ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION FUND Climate change adaptation is a priority action for the Province. The Climate Change Adaptation Fund program was launched in January 2009 to support efforts and actions by communities to understand the vulnerability they are facing, and how they can prepare, adapt and become more resilient for the impacts of climate change. Key objectives of this program are to: identify and assess the threats and opportunities related to climate change in Nova Scotia; and build Nova Scotia’s capacity to become better suited to new and different climatic conditions. FUNDING AMOUNT 2013-14 Twenty-five thousand dollars is available for 2013-14 and the amount granted to each approved applicant will be based on number of proposals received and the dollar value associated with each project. The program runs from April 1, 2013 – March 31, 2014. ELIGIBILITY The Climate Change Adaptation Fund is open to any group or individual including, non-profit organizations, municipalities, universities, and businesses that will be conducting efforts to help build a stronger community. NON-ELIGIBILITY The Fund is not open to provincial or federal government bodies or agencies. It is also not open to efforts that are being conducted for the benefit of one individual, business or residence.
