Joanne Tracy is the Vice President of Business Development for
Cell Press, a high impact scientific journals publisher in the
biological sciences. In this capacity, she is responsible for the
overall strategic direction of the business, product development
and acquisition, as well as the innovation processes. Cell Press is a
recognized leader in innovation of the presentation of scientific
literature, introducing new elements like multimedia and data
into online article formats. In 2009, Cell Press released the Article
of the Future, leading the industry in fully leveraging web
capabilities for journal articles and initiating the move away from
static and linear PDFs. Prior to coming to Cell Press, Joanne was
the global VP of editorial for Elsevier's book division that
published more than 1600 titles a year and she oversaw the
transition from print to digital eBooks.
