MMC is a full-­‐service advertising agency that specializes in conceptual advertising campaigns, graphic design, media planning & placement, marketing plans, public relations, event management, social media planning & management, business-­‐to-­‐business marketing, etc. Job Summary: The Intern will assist MMC with public relations and marketing needs, helping to expand client’s profits, marketing reach, and increase visibility. The public relations/marketing intern will work directly below the public relations director. It is MMC’s goal to instill the basic teachings of marketing and public relations and aspire for the relationship to be beneficial for both parties. Duties might include any of the following responsibilities, as well as other possible duties based on skill-­‐level, not listed below. Public Relations Responsibilities: • Assist with developing, writing and distributing approved press releases • Assist with media relations, including pitching, researching and scheduling interviews if needed • Assist with organization of media opportunities and events • Assist with building and maintaining relationships with both local and national media • Assist with building and maintaining press kits • Assist with posting logos and client summaries to industry related web sites and publications • Assist with finding and completing appropriate contest entries
• Assist with following-­‐up with members of the media to track and ensure client placement
• Assist with proofing written materials for style, grammar, etc. • Assist with planning and executing special events, if needed Marketing Responsibilities: • Assist with monitoring the outcome of advertising campaigns and client sales
• Assist with writing advertising copy for clients • Assist with electronic and social media marketing efforts for MMC and its clients General office responsibilities • Run errands as needed -­‐ compensation for mileage applicable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Ability to work with others
• Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously
• Ability to assist clients from concept to production
• Adherence to deadlines and budget
• Willingness to contribute to the overall operation of MMC
• Ability to generate, share and follow through on creative ideas • Knowledgeable in multiple social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.
