(FINAL BODY)
First of all, starting from the survey y that has been provided by me which starts with a question
of “How worried are you about global warming? “, 81.5% of them show that they are very
worried about it. That shows that most of us have clear background of the issue with some
concerned of the humans’ activities which will definitely result negatively on us and our
environment. In these days global warming is very important subject for all of us. In fact, I have
stated in my survey a question to see how global warming is important for them personally.
Many of them see that it is very important subject. On the other hand, researches show that
“global warming is gradually changes in our climate negatively which will affect our planet
including humans, animals and plants” (National Geography, 2011).
Do you think that global warming is happening? This was one of the questions that has been
provided in my survey. Most of them agree that it is happening. However, A lot of things
approves that global warming is happening. As stated by (National Geography, 2011) that
“Greenhouse effect, see level change and climate change are the three major things that affected
by global warming and they are making a lot of changing in our earth”. For example, when
humans release tons of carbon dioxide and other gases in the atmosphere, these gases make a
layer in the atmosphere which prevents the waves of the sun to cross out the earth. When the
greenhouse effect happens and the waves of the sun can cross-in and cannot cross-out the earth’s
temperature will increase and changes the climate of the earth. In this point things will negatively
change gradually causing the sea level increase. These changes couldn’t be caused by natural or
by the natural cycle, there should be a reason behind these changes in our earth. Unfortunately,
the main reason is behind our activities. According to NASA’s studies “the average temperatures
in our planet have risen around1.4 F degree (0.8 C degree) since 1880” (National Geography,
2010).
If most of us agree that global warming is happening with the facts, then who is/are causing it.
When I asked in my survey “do think global warming caused by humans, natural or both”, the
answers show different thoughts in this point. Many of them see that it is caused by humans.
However, some of them see that it is caused by both humans and natural. Actually, at this point
studies approve that it caused by human’s activities, but not all human activities kinds affect our
earth. However, there are some types of activities that cause global warming. One of these types
is the emission of the carbon dioxide. Many of electrical industrial factories overall the world are
burning enormous amount of coal in order to produce electricity, which make them to release a
big amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. As shows by (Planetsave , 2009) that Studies
show that 40% of the carbon dioxide emissions come from the electricity factories. Also, there is
another source for the carbon dioxide emissions that caused by burning the gasoline for
transportations usage. The increase of population caused the demand of buying cars to increase
means that we increasing the usage of fuel. Statistics show that “33% of CO2 is emitted by our
transportations usage. Methane is another extremely type of gases” (Planetsave, 2009). In fact,
it’s ranking behind carbon dioxide. This becomes when hen organic matter is broken down by
bacteria under oxygen-starved conditions, methane is produced. Also, it is emitted by animals.
When increasing the amount of the concentrated livestock production, the level of the methane
emissions increases in the atmosphere. Another type of methane is methane clathrate which it is
compound containing large amounts in the ice crystal structures. When the methane escapes
from the arctic seabed, the global warming rate will increase. Deforestation is one of the main
causes. People cut trees (forests) to use it for production and making space for population.
Studies approve that “forests help to remove and store CO2 from the atmosphere, and
deforestation helps to make CO2 released back to the atmosphere” (Organization of
Deforestation Facts, 2012).
To help solving this problem we have to see what are the harmful sides? And how can global
warming affect us? In fact, there were three questions in my survey about the harmful of global
warming on humans with respect of time. The questions were “how much do think that it will
harm you? When do you think it will start to harm you? How match do you think it will harm the
future generations? Most of them agree that it will harm them personally and will harm the future
generations a lot. However, there are different results in the point of when it will start to be
harmful. Some of them see that it will start to harm before 25 year, and some of the see that it
will start to harm after 50 years from now. In fact, there are a lot of facts approves that global
warming starts to harm us since the 1970’s. as shown by (World Health Organization, 2012) that
“ a lot of the major killers are climate sensitive as as diarrhoeal diseases, malnutrition, malaria
and dengue and are expected to worsen as the climate changes”. So, Climate change affects the
social and environmental determinants of health such as clean air, safe drinking water, and
sufficient food.
The final question in my survey was “global warming should be a low, medium, high, or very
high priority for countries’ leaders to look for?” and the survey’s results show that 84.4% of
them gave it a very high priority. In fact, there are global response to climate change between
countries. As stated by the (Organization of the Royal Society, 2005) that there was a meeting
between countries who are emitted a lot of greenhouse gases to agree with a consider limit for
each country and not to exceed this limit.
