1.- CLASSIFICATION OF LIVING THINGS
There are four kinds of living things: animals, plants, fungus and micro-organisms
(moneran and protist). There are seven things that they have in common: They can grow,
They can move, They can eat, they can reproduce, They can respond to stimuli, They
can breathe and They can excrete.

There are five kingdoms. Their names are
moneran, fungus, protist, animals and plants.
Autotrophs use light energy from the sun to
produce the food they need. However,
Heterotrophs are living things that cannot create
their own food.
Some living things have got only one cell. They
are called unicellular. Others have got more
than one cell and they are called multicellular.
The moneran kingdom is prokaryotic because
their cells have no nucleus while protists, fungi,
plants and animals are eukaryotic because their
cells have a nucleus.

tissues while plants and animals have tissues.
This Kingdom includes only bacteria. Scientists
say that monerans are the oldest lifeforms on
Earth. They are unicellular and have no nucleus.
Some bacteria cause illnesses but others are
beneficial for human beings. They can be
classified into four groups: coccus, bacillus,
spirillum and vibrio.
2.2. The Protist Kingdom.
Protist are composed of eukaryotic cells. They
can be unicellular or multicellular; protists
don´t have specialized tissues. They can be
autotrophic or heterotrophic. Protists are
between plants and animals. They are green.
This kingdom includes protozoa and algae.
2.3. The Fungus Kingdom.
Fungi are different from plants. Fungi cannot make their
own food. Mushrooms, mould, truffles and yeast are
examples of fungi. Yeast is used to make beer, bread and
cakes. Fungi are heterotrophic and eukaryotic. They grow in
wet places so they need humidity.

1.2.3.4.5.-
Micro-organisms include moneran and plants/fungi/protists.
Living things can eat and breathe/hunt/build among other things.
Only plants and fungi/animals/protists have got tissues.
Autotrophs need the light of planets/moon/sun to produce food.
Eukaryotic cells have a nucleus in them. Monerans/Fungi/Protists are eukaryotic.
