JOB TITLE:
Senior Marketing Analyst – Business Development
REPORTS TO:
Director of Marketing
CLASSIFICATION:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Support the overall process of management/marketing
decision-making to ensure maximization of revenue-generating opportunities. Key
relationships include telemarketing firm, venues management, senior management,
marketing team members and the finance department.

Proactively identify opportunities to increase revenue; analyzing data, able to advance
insights on strategies for program pricing. Ability to answer the “so what?” of data.
Create custom reports, analyze data, draw meaningful conclusions and make
recommendations based on data and make available for staff/management.
Oversee ticketing database, working with various departments to track, code, and flag
information in order to provide optimal efficiency, reporting and analysis.
Build all events including pricing, scaling, and tracking information in Tessitura
(ticketing database), enabling both box office and web transactions for subscription,
single ticket and free events.
Build subscription season and oversee subscription renewal process.
Ensure that all ticket related settlement obligations are met
Work closely with telemarketing firm to coordinate subscription campaign, data and
ensure accuracy of communications and PCI compliance.
Work with marketing team to develop and implement sales promotions, sales packages,
loyalty programs, and other initiatives; coordinates internal communication
Proofing of marketing materials for ticketing information
Provide targeted, segmented lists for marketing department and track responses in
Tessitura
Oversee implementation of inventory management strategies including hold/release of
seats for all performances at Symphony Hall
Manage demand-based pricing strategies and monitor impact of price increases.
Create reports for weekly revenue pacing meetings, including individual concert tracking,
complimentary ticket reports, media tracking reports, and demand-based pricing impact
reports

Provide analytical support for the Marketing department, including budget coordination
and reconciliation.

Conduct and contribute to additional research projects including patron surveys, concert
comparisons, competitive research, background information and statistics
Qualifications:
•

B.A./B.S.; 5 years minimum database management, data and trend analysis experience
desired.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office products with emphasis on Excel.
Experience with Tessitura or similar database/software desired
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; solid written and verbal
communication skills
Requires highly-motivated individual capable of managing multiple tasks
Must be able to work evenings and weekends as necessary
Knowledge and enthusiasm for orchestral music is valued
