Activity 59 Gene Combo Activity 59: Gene Combo White Space ?: What does it mean when you say you have a 50/50 chance? A 1 in 4 chance? When you flip a coin, does the coin remember what you just had or do your chances start again? Vocabulary: Dominant Trait: the trait that is the stronger of the two genes given from the parents. It will also be the trait visibly seen. Recessive Trait: The trait that is the weaker of the two. Will only appear if there are NO dominant traits. Activity 59: Gene Combo Coin Tossing Model Outcome of coin toss = Trait given by parent-each critter receives one trait from each parent. Heads=Blue Tail Tails=Orange Tail Critters of Generation 3. • Blue tail is dominant to orange. If the critter has one blue gene, the tail will be blue. This is true for boys and girls.
