JOB DESCRIPTION
Job title:
Marketing & Communications Business Partner

Overall Responsibilities:
1. To deliver marketing and communication campaigns and activities to successfully achieve
the objectives and recruitment targets set.
2. To provide an agency style service to key stakeholders and curriculum teams to ensure
coherent connection and joint working in achieving recruitment objectives.
3. To raise the College’s reputation through a creative, content-driven approach to
communications that reflects the organisation’s strengths/uniqueness.
Main Duties:
1. To deliver marketing and communication plans and activities to successfully
achieve the objectives and recruitment targets set:
 Supporting the Marketing Manager to develop marketing campaigns which are in
line with the marketing strategy and the wider corporate strategic plan.

Ensuring the effective implementation of marketing campaigns and activities to
achieve objectives set, and delivering to timescales and budget agreed.

Supporting the Marketing Manager to review/improve existing campaign plans
during the recruitment cycle, providing regular analysis and updating key marketing
data to demonstrate return on investment, impact and effectiveness of marketing
mix.

Working closely with the Marketing Manager and key staff to ensure that the
‘applicant journey’ is managed to optimise conversion from enquiry to application to
enrolment.

Project managing recruitment events to achieve a positive visitor experience and
targets set, including producing actions plans, recruiting/managing staff and
students, adhering to health and safety legislation, and producing evaluation
reports.

Overseeing the development and production of course prospectuses/key
publications, working closely with copywriters and designers to produce to agreed
timescales and budget.

Maintaining a thorough understanding of customers, competitors, products and
markets for the brands you are responsible for.

Representing the College at key community and school events, as agreed with the
Marketing Manager.

Accurately and effectively proof-reading copy to be used in marketing material.

Taking responsibility for special projects as requested by the Marketing Manager or
Director.
2. To provide an agency style service to key stakeholders and curriculum teams to
ensure coherent connection and joint working in delivering recruitment objectives:
 Maintaining an overview of all marketing and communication activities for each
brand you are responsible for, ensuring that activities and associated service level
agreement elements are delivered on time, to budget and to the expected standard,
raising any risks or issues appropriately.

Acting as the day-to-day point of contact for the brands you are responsible for,
maintaining a high profile and becoming the ‘go-to’ person for marketing.

Successfully integrating into the areas of the college you are responsible for,

Acting as the point of contact for the publication of course/product information on
the website, and working with the Content Editor and Digital Marketing & Web
Executive to ensure that this information is current and accurate.

Ensuring an excellent and proactive customer service culture, and the efficient and
timely delivery of all collateral and activities.
3. To raise the reputation of the College through a creative, content-driven approach
to communications that reflects the organisation’s strengths and uniqueness:
 Running social media accounts for the brands you are responsible for, using
imaginative approaches to engage with stakeholders, and building up a strong
following in line with the social media plan.

Working with the Content Editor and Digital Marketing & Web Executive to update
and improve website content regularly, keeping external stakeholders fully up-todate with news and developments, in line with the web development plan.

Proactively seeking out news stories and, in consultation with the Group’s PR
Agency, publishing these internally and externally without delay through all
available communication channels.

Actively engaging with the student community to help source news and success
stories, and also aiding the development of new and relevant promotional
messages.
Working with the Marketing Manager to ensure that all content produced is creative
and accurately conveys the agreed brand messages in the right tone of voice.
4. To represent the Directorate at internal and external meetings as appropriate.
5. To undertake any other duties as appropriate assigned by the Marketing Manager
or Director.
