Climate Change Strategy 2009 – 2012, version 1.0.

The Strategy aims to raise awareness of the issues surrounding climate
change and to reduce Craven District Council’s and the District’s contribution
to global greenhouse gas emissions and its natural resources. It sets out how
this will be achieved through working closely in partnership with local
organisations, businesses and with active communities.
Sustainable Development; Assist in developing Craven as a prosperous and
sustainable rural community by working to maintain Craven’s unique
environment now and for future generations
Managing Direct Emissions; Craven District Council should show leadership
by minimising its impact on climate change, by economically and practically
reducing its greenhouse gases and adapting the way Craven District Council
delivers services
Community Engagement; By working in partnership through the Local
Strategic Partnership Craven District Council will raise awareness with
communities and businesses to reduce the effects of climate change
throughout the district.
