Job Description Job title Responsible to Salary Location Marketing & Communications Manager Director of Business Development & Contracts Department Business Development Responsible for Communications Officer 2 years Contract (4 days per week) Camden House, 199 Arlington Road, Camden, London, NW1 7HA £38,913 pro rata Role purpose Contract One or two sentences giving a simple statement of why the role exists The post holder will be responsible for developing and leading on RISE’s Marketing & Communications strategy, with a focus on developing RISE’s brand identity and raising awareness of RISE’s services across different markets to support RISE to become a credible market leader. Key Accountabilities Statement of the main areas of responsibility 1 Marketing Strategy Plan, develop and implement RISE Marketing Strategy in conjunction with Director of Business Development. Develop Marketing& Communications Plan in line with the RISE Marketing Strategy, in line with organisational objectives and budget. Develop and implement marketing campaigns to build RISE’s brand. Work with staff to develop RISE’s competitive advantage and unique selling points Involve staff in marketing campaigns, particularly through the Employee Council and working closely with the RISE Internal Communications Officer Publicity, Communications & Media Relations Lead on the design and production of all RISE digital and print marketing. Develop social media strategy and presence for RISE (e.g. LinkedIn / Twitter), including guidelines for staff. Ensure all communication is in line with brand guidelines. Day to day management of RISE’s website: review, update and design new sections of the website – including content, design, functionality and overseeing on-going improvements. Use relevant tools for tracking online traffic e.g. google analytics. Monitor press and social media, write press releases and articles, provide reports to Executive Leadership Team on RISE’s media presence and log / answer media enquiries, articles, etc. Develop and maintain system of positive publicity for RISE, including good new stories, press releases, etc. Collate and analyse media coverage. Enter RISE for relevant industry and business awards to enhance the company’s profile. Resources Plan, manage and control budgets within various campaigns Negotiate prices with third party suppliers Monitor and report on expenditure against various marketing campaigns Market Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement Build relationships with third party organizations' and suppliers, including organizing stakeholder briefings and events, maintaining a database of key stakeholders and contacts. Organise and manage campaigns to raise RISE’s profile across different sectors. Prepare PowerPoint presentations about RISE for external audience Support Business Development team to undertake market scoping, including customer and competitor analysis – profiling customers and competitors and designing targeted campaigns accordingly. Support the development of a CRM system. Other duties 2 Participate in relevant internal or external meetings as requested by the Director of Business Development. Undertake training as required. Maintain and develop your own knowledge, skills and competences. Undertake other duties as may be required which are commensurate with the grade and nature of the post. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and The tools needed to do the role Experience Essential Experience Experience of developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies and plans, including digital marketing strategies. Demonstrate experience of generating impactful media coverage. Minimum 5 years experience in a similar broad-based Communications role. Experience of operating strategically within a marketing role. Experience of engaging different stakeholders across different markets. Experience of developing and promoting a brand through digital and more traditional methods, with tangible outcomes. Experience of website review and content management. 3 Experience of Press Liaison and of creating and developing new innovative ways to communicate the company message to their existing customers. Experience of event and campaign management (invitations, co-ordination, event programme schedule, engaging speakers, speech writing, follow up) Knowledge of planning, managing and controlling budgets within various campaigns Experience of developing positive press and social media publicity. Experience of designing and producing digital and print marketing materials. Experience of building relationships with third party organisations and suppliers. Experience of market analysis, including customer and competitor analysis. Line management experience. Skills Excellent skills on MS Office (MS Word, Outlook, Excel & Powerpoint, Publisher) and general file management. Knowledge and ability to use website content management systems, e.g. WordPress, and website tracking tools, e.g. Google Analytics. Excellent verbal, proof reading and written communication skills. Ability to be pro-active, solution focused and tackle challenges diligently and in a timely maner. Excellent multi-tasking and time management. Establish effective and productive relationships both internally and externally and be able to work autonomously. Integrity, trust and honesty.
