In this paper, we develop a multiple objective, decision-making model that focuses on forest policies that simultaneously achieve
carbon uptake and maintenance of ecosystem diversity objectives. Two forest carbon measures are used - a nominal
(undiscounted) net carbon uptake as a proxy for long-term carbon sequestration and discounted net carbon uptake that captures the
"fast" carbon accumulation aspect. Ecosystem diversity is expressed in terms of desired structures for forest and afforested
agricultural land. Economic effects of possible strategies are examined by comparing attainment of these objectives with the net

Evaluation of Urban Land Intensive Use Based on Analytic Hierarchy Process - A Case of
Zhongxiang City, Hubei Province, China

Taking Zhongxiang City, Hubei Province, China as an example, evaluation index system of urban land intensive use is established
from four aspects of land economic benefit, land utilization degree, investment intensity, and sustainable utilization. Analytic
Hierarchy Process (AHP) is used to determine the weight of evaluation index in research region. Taking the index numerical value
of Hubei Province as the standard value, index value of the research region is evaluated. Combining with the index weight
obtained by AHP, urban land intensive use is evaluated by the weighted average. Result shows that land intensive use level of
Zhongxiang City is much lower than the average level of Hubei Province. Therefore, urban land of Zhongxiang City is of is

The objective of the research presented in this paper is the development of a stochastic adoption threshold. The option pricing
approach for modeling investment under uncertainty is extended for the case of comparing two stochastic input prices associated
with inputs that are perfect substitutes in a production process. Based on this methodology, a threshold decision rule influenced by
the drift and volatility of these two input prices is developed. Theoretical results established an empirical link for measuring the
tradeoff of a relatively more expensive input (biodiesel) with lower price drift and volatility compared with a lower but more
volatile priced input (petroleum diesel).
