TEST REVIEW FOR NERVOUS SYSTEM
o Study Notes from PowerPoint.
o Study drawings in worksheet packet and ID’s I have given you. I
will/could give you the picture from your book or in the packet.
o IF you did a good chart…study that!!
o Make sure you can answer the following questions and/or finish the
statement…..TODAY…you need to review today in class by answering
these questions….ON YOUR OWN PAPER! The more you write it the more
you will remember it!! This will be a grade! Due Friday…Test Monday!
1. Know the difference between a Neuron and Neurogilia (2pts)
2. Know the key parts of the neuron. Function of each? What is an impulse?
(7pts)
3. Be able to differentiate the neurons based on structure and function. Pg
396 (6pts)
4. Pathway of Reflex Arc…how does it work? (3pts)
5. Central Nervous System/Peripheral Nervous System…describe parts and
functions. (4pts)
6. Compare/contrast Autonomic v/s Somatic Portion of the NS and
Sympathetic v/s Parasympathetic Portion NS (4pts)
7. What is the synapse and how does it work? Use key words in your
description…neurotransmitters, synaptic cleft, electric signals. (5pts)
8. Be able to differentiate between the gyri (convolutions), sulcus, and
fissure, cortex matter, internal white matter, and basal nuclei. (6pts)
9. Be able to identify the following lobes…frontal, parietal, temporal, and
occipital. (Not required on paper)
10. Be able to identify the following Central, Longitudinal, Transverse, and
Lateral Sulcus/Fissures. (Not required on paper)
11. Cerebrum…lots to know here are a few key words I will include on your
test…corpus callosum, cerebral cortex, dominant hemispheres. (3pts)
12. Be able to differentiate between the different areas of the Cerebral and
their functions. (8pts)
13. Diencephalon….Where/what is it and what does it include? List key
function of each part. (7pts)
14. The Brain Stem…where? What key parts? Give key functions of each
part. (7pts)
15. Cerebellum…where is it? What did it look like in the dissection? What
does it do? (3pts)
16. What is CSF? List 4 key functions. How often is it replaced? (6pts)
17. Explain the flow of CSF through the brain. (5pts)
18. Spinal Cord..What does it consists of? Functions?? (5pts)
19. Spinal Nerves v/s Cranial Nerves. How many of each? Function? (4pts)
