Why is this a priority?
Adverse impacts of Climate Change

Disaster necessitates the need for an
appropriate policy-mix to build resilience and
fulfill the broad aspirations
of Fiji's
development agenda.
Legislative/ Policy Framework
• Fiji is signatory to a number of international conventions :
1. United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change(UNFCCC)
in 1992
2. Hyogo Framework for Action 2005 -2015
3. The Mauritius Strategy 2005-2015 and
4. Barbados Plan of Action (1994)/SAMOA Pathway (SIDS)
