Sex-linked Genes Sex-linked genes: genes located on the x and y chromosomes. There are several sex-linked genetic disorders. Causes abnormal numbers of chromosomes in gametes, and a disorder of chromosome numbers may result Down Syndrome If two copies of an autosomal chromosome fail to separate during meiosis, an individual may be born with three copies of a chromosome.
