Applications are open to: Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents Only Functional Area: Communication and Information Role Overview: As part of CSIRO’s Brand and Marketing team, the Brand and Marketing Officer will coordinate creative marketing projects and brand initiatives; and, provide administrative support for photoshoots and multimedia, merchandise, evaluation, design, production and distribution. The Brand and Marketing Officer will be highly organised with strong relationship, administration and project coordination skills, as well as the ability to coordinate and support campaign and marketing initiatives. To protect and grow CSIRO’s brand, a key role of the Brand and Marketing Officer is to ensure the wider Communication Team (80 staff) are aware and understand all the services and support the Brand and Marketing Team offers – this could include hosting small webinars, meetings, creating ‘how to’ guides and promoting our new initiatives, services and products. As part of a wider pool of communication advisors, the role requires strong writing and marketing skills to undertake a range of activities which support the effective delivery of marketing campaigns and tactics, including writing blogs, media releases, online content, developing collateral and drafting strategies and plans for campaigns and initiatives. Duties and Key Result Areas: Establish and maintain relationships across the communication team to deliver brand and marketing services; including regular training and assistance around brand and marketing services and processes. Provide high level coordination and administration support to the Brand and Marketing Team Administer and promote the use and quality of the multimedia library, ensuring the quality of metadata and coordinating photoshoots. Coordinate the Communication Team’s monitoring and evaluation process, systems and monthly reporting; and assisting the Communication Team continuously improve and demonstrate outcomes. Assist the Senior Graphic Designer with the coordination of design and production requests and projects, including liaising with external suppliers, briefing, quoting and administrative duties as required. Coordinate CSIRO’s corporate collateral including the creation, distribution and promotion of signage, merchandise and brochures. Coordinate the development and delivery of small- to medium-scale brand and marketing campaigns and initiatives; and provide support for major brand and marketing campaigns and initiatives. Ensure a flexible, adaptive and responsive approach in delivering planned communications activities across the Brand and Marketing team and the wider Communication team. Exhibit an enthusiastic approach to learning new skills and experiences and sharing knowledge /lessons/ideas within and across teams in order to develop a multi-skilled communication team where individuals have more than one area of domain knowledge. Selection Criteria: Under CSIRO policy only those who meet all essential criteria can be appointed Pre-Requisites: Education/Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in a relevant area, such as communication, marketing, media, or public relations, or equivalent experience. Essential Criteria: 1. Experience in marketing tactics, for example advertising, infographics, production and design, merchandise, events, public relations, media, content or multimedia. 2. Demonstrated organisation, administration and relationship skills and experience in coordinating brand and marketing initiatives, for example, merchandise, collateral, multimedia, and production and design. 3. High level written and verbal communication skills, including presentations and the ability to write content for a variety of audiences and channels quickly and effectively. 4. Good understanding of how communication activities can be measured and evaluated. 5. Flexibility and eagerness to learn and work as part of a team.
