Subscriptions Marketing Manager
International Data Group (IDG) is the world's leading technology media, research, and event
company. IDG has the largest network of technology-specific web sites, more than 400 around
the world and publishes over 300 magazines and newspapers globally. We are looking for an
experienced Subscriptions Manager to work across IDG’s consumer brands, including PC
Advisor, Macworld and Digital Arts responsible for developing and implementing the subscriptions
strategies.
The Subscriptions Marketing Manager plays a key role within the Marketing team and is primarily
responsible for delivering subs numbers to target and within budget. The Subscriptions Manager
also takes key responsibility for ABC projections, analysis and submissions. Reporting to the
Group Marketing Manager the candidate must have 3+ years of relevant experience in
subscription marketing with an excellent understanding of media marketing and the ability to
execute initiatives to deadline and on budget.

Attention to detail, analytics and problem-solving ability
Proactive, good communicator and motivator
Good organisational skills: the ability to meet deadlines, multi-task and work under pressure
Ability to roll up their sleeves and get the job done and work well in a team
Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain the subscriptions strategies
o Deliver targeted and tailored campaigns to maximise subscriptions revenues
o Complete the ABC reports and returns
o Manage day-to-day activity and budgets
o Meet the subscriptions targets for each ABC period
o Set the monthly print orders for each title
o Work with Circulation Manager to keep abreast of competitor activity and
numbers
o Provide monthly reports on campaigns and results including ROI

Manage relationships to maximise subscription opportunities
o Liaise across all internal departments to identify opportunities and implement
campaigns both online and in print
o Manage the subscription bureaus to monitor delivery of campaigns, stock and
quality of customer service
 Manage subscription offers and presence at relevant events
o Work with editorial and sales to identify events with greatest subscription
potential
o Assess and organise the level of involvement at relevant events
o Provide cost analysis and ROI reporting on attendance at events

Develop and maximise all marketing databases
o Forge links with clients and event organizers to obtain lists and contra
arrangements
o Develop initiatives both online and in print to increase data-capture opportunities
