Some of the Presentations made since 2010
1. Keynote Speaker at The Local Climate Solutions for Africa 2011 (LOCS2011) Congress
held in Cape Town, South Africa from 27 February – 3 March 2011. I was involved
preparing and delivering expert opinion in session A3 “Africa’s urban communities – key
actors towards the MDGs and climate smart actions”. Over 380 experts participated globally.
2. Presented at UNEP Headquarters in Nairobi on awareness raising and building capacity
for sensitive communities as part of a joint Climate Change and Development – Adapting
by REducing Vulnerability

3. Made a presentation on community involvement for efficient natural resources in
African at the Experts’ Meeting on Climate Change Education for Sustainable
Development in Africa organized by UNESCO between 20-22 March 2013 in Mauritius
4. Made a presentation on THE NILE AS AN ASSET OF COOPERATION
AND BENEFITS OF COOPERATION during a regional retreat held on 18th May, 2011
in Bujumbura-Burundi. I also made the same presentation in Bahr Dar in Ethiopia on a
consultative regional workshop on the benefits of constructing the Millennium Hydro
Electric Dam on the Blue Nile.
5. Made an assessment results presentation on benefit sharing at the Resettlement Action
Plan (RAP) for Rusumo Falls HPP Project (220 kV Transmission Lines for
Rwanda-Tanzania-Burundi). The presentation was also made during the community
engagement on compensation and benefits workshop held in 2012 in Ngoma District,
Eastern Province of Rwanda. It was also presented at in Muyinga, Burundi where
communities will be impacted by the same project.
6. Between 2009 to 2012, while representing African Civil Societies Organization at the
World Bank’s Climate Investment Funds in Clean Technology Transfer, I made various
presentations on community to stakeholders at local, national, regional and international
levels. They all emphasized on equitable engagement and participation of communities fo
sustainable funds management and prioritization.
7. Since 2013 to end of 2015, I made a number of presentations on Community Based
Climate Change Adaptation mechanism, indicator tools for best practices and women
engagement for sustainability at grassroots levels. This also emphasized on lobbying
government support and adoption of the best practices.
8. Between 2010 to 2013, I made many presentations on Cooperation. Emphasis was on an
influencing strategy for community participation and involvement for government of
Rwanda in ratification of a binding cooperative framework agreement for the Nile Basin
countries.

financial health at different levels (local, national and regional).
