Customer Insight Database Analyst
Reporting to the Customer & Marketing Analytics Manager, the Customer Insight Database Analyst
provides support to the Marketing and Client Development departments in order to increase sales.
Utilizing databases that contain corporate and individual customer trends the incumbent will assist with
building campaign distribution lists based on detailed criteria and will provide weekly reports that track
the results of previous campaigns. The Customer Insight Database Analyst is responsible for the integrity
of the databases and for the quality of the reports generated on behalf of their internal client team.
What you will achieve in this role:
 Provide campaign leads to promote CSI courses which will result in increased sales and
revenue.
o Support the Marketing team by synthesizing, providing insight and interpretation of data
from CSI databases to help identify existing and new business opportunities amongst
both our student and corporate client segments. Send distribution lists to Marketing so
that email campaigns can be sent to targeted audience. SQL queries are created using
criteria established by the Marketing team and behavior triggered campaigns based on
product focus.
 Ensure databases are updated and maintained to guarantee maximum data integrity.
o Responsible for the monitoring and synching of the ExactTarget database with the
Enterprise system to ensure accuracy of data. Incorporates quality assurance concepts
to cleanse the data and guarantee the integrity of the query results.
 Respond to ad hoc report requests generated by Client Development and Marketing.
o Create the request template and analyze the criteria required to provide reports. Run
reports by creating a query in Oracle SQL and export the data table into an excel file.
Send completed reports via email within specified timeframes.
 Run regularly scheduled reports and store on shared drives.
o Trigger the creation of weekly campaign results reports using automated program and
manual queries when required. Reports are stored on a shared Marketing drive and
accessible by members of the team.
 Create and maintain a data dictionary for the database marketing analyst position.
o Develop a library of documents for training and reference purposes.
What you will bring to this role:
 University degree or College diploma in a related field (ie. Information Systems)
 2+ years of experience in a customer database marketing role (research and campaigns)
 Strong relational database knowledgewith proficiency in SQL Server and Oracle
 Intermediate to advanced skills in SPSS and Excel
 Silverpop and/or ExactTarget experience would be an asset
