JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Student Recruitment Marketing Officer (Recruitment Relationships) Ref No: MKG42 Campus: Hendon Grade: 6 Salary: £29,173 to £33,457 per annum inclusive of Outer London Weighting Period: Permanent Reporting to: Student Recruitment and Enquiries Marketing Manager Reporting to Job Holder: None Overall Purpose: To implement the University’s overall UK student recruitment marketing strategy, under the direction of the Student Recruitment and Enquiries Marketing Manager and in collaboration with the other Marketing officer. Align activities with the annual decision-making cycle for UK based students, produce appropriate marketing tools to influence prospective students in their choices regarding where and what to study. Work with the corporate marketing team to ensure clarity on overall positioning/USP’s of the university and effective communication of these messages through marketing tools. Focus on generating leads and converting them into applicants and enrolled students through first-rate affinity marketing techniques to provide closer and more tailored contact with enquirers and applicants. Principal Duties: Key Duties • • • • • • Work with the Student Recruitment Marketing Manager, the existing Marketing Officer and other relevant staff to implement an annual UK student recruitment marketing plan to support agreed targets Ensure clear measures are in place to report against agreed recruitment targets and the marketing tactics that deliver them Establish and implement a CRM plan, using the full marketing mix, targeting prospective students from the point of enquiry through to enrolment with a clear focus on conversion targets Work with the enquiries team, admissions team, programmes marketing and corporate marketing teams to ensure type and timing of communications are effective Work with programmes and Corporate Marketing colleagues and other relevant staff to produce an annual suite of online and offline recruitment tools, with particular focus on the motivations and information needs of the target market and the balance between print and on-line content in this regard Ensure campaigns and CRM activities support targets at UG, PG, Part time and Access student levels with a clear understanding of the needs and motivations of each target market • • • • • Work with the existing Marketing Officer on the UG and PG open events including communication plans to ensure conversion to attendance and reporting Manage sections of the mdx.ac.uk website that are relevant to prospective students and decision makers Work closely with Student marketing and recruitment teams and Corporate marketing team to ensure clarity/suitability of positioning and key messages and the production of relevant and effective recruitment tools Work with the Recruitment teams to develop effective online targeting/relationship build with target schools and colleges Work with Recruitment team in the co-ordination and attendance at recruitment events with a particular focus on lead generation and conversion Other Duties • • • • Develop good awareness of competitive landscape with a focus on overall recruitment positioning/USPs and benchmarking of competitor marketing tactics Keep abreast of new marketing techniques that will appeal to your target audiences Produce reports analyzing marketing metrics, trends/recruitment progress as required Assist wider Student Marketing and Recruitment team as required PERSON SPECIFICATION Education/ Qualifications: Essential: Significant experience working in a marketing role in a busy environment Essential: A first degree or equivalent experience that demonstrates an understanding of marketing principles. Essential: Excellent copywriting skills with the ability to deliver top quality written communications to a wide variety of audiences and across multiple channels Essential: Good understanding of requirements for delivery of effective marketing communications online and in print Essential: Excellent administrative and organizational skills including the ability to time manage and work under pressure Essential: High level of computing skills and experience of Microsoft Office packages. Essential: Self-motivated and able to meet agreed objectives on own initiative Essential: Events management experience Essential: Experience of affinity marketing/CRM/digital marketing Essential: Experience of communicating with and influencing complex stakeholder groups within an organisation Desirable: Experience of marketing products or services to a relevant consumer group Desirable: Experience of using a CRM system and or CRM techniques Desirable: Experience of using a CMS Desirable: Professional marketing qualification Desirable: Knowledge of HE sector or target audience Hours: 35.5 hours per week throughout the year, actual days and hours by arrangement. Annual Leave: 30 days at Grade 6 and above, plus 6 extra days taken in conjunction with Bank Holidays.
