Position Description
Title: Student Recruitment and Marketing Officer (SRMO)
Business Division: Student Recruitment & Marketing
Location: SAE Glasgow
Responsible to: Campus Manager (Line Manager), Director of Student Recruitment &
External Relations, Director of Marketing, Brand & Communications (Functional
Managers)
1.
Overview and Objectives of the Position:
The SRMO is responsible for activities across the sales & marketing funnel of SAE from planning
events, communications and messaging to prospective students, to engaging and converting
prospective students into enrolled students, retaining students and creating advocates of the
Institute. The SRMO is responsible for generating leads through the web, local fairs, schools and
UCAS events. The SRMO is also responsible for converting leads into enrolled students through
engagement,
relationship
building,
researching
the
local
market
for
demand
in
related
products/services, as well as promoting the SAE product offer/service in a structured professional
way face-to-face or through other channels.

Key accountabilities that are part of the role:
Lead Conversion
i.
Hit monthly and quarterly targets, in line with growth expectations, through increased lead
conversion.
ii.
Accountable for final student numbers in their respective campus, per intake.
iii.
Responsible for all face-to-face enquiries in their respective campus.
iv.
Follow up qualified leads, encouraging on-campus visitations.

v.
Enhance lead conversion through lead nurturing, both offline and online, conveying the value
proposition of courses via meetings, calls and attendance at fairs, representing the school
and its USPs.
vi.
Provide specialist knowledge of the campus and support to applicants through the application
process.
vii.
Liaise daily with the National Recruitment team in London and support the pipeline
management of enquiries and potential applicants.
viii.
Provide accurate and reliable information to prospective students concerning the program of
study, policies of the school, and general expectations for satisfactory performance;
ix.
Motivate and guide potential students and applicants to settle in the location of study;
x.
Inform management, national marketing & sales teams and academic staff about trends and
changes regarding market needs and expectations.
Lead Generation
i.
Hit monthly and quarterly targets for school visits and leads generated at outbound events.
ii.
Plan, organize and attend UCAS Exhibition Events and other exhibition (e.g. Comic Con etc.)
and school careers events as required;
iii.
Plan, organise and drive high quality enrolment activities, such as Open days, seminars,
special events, meet ups, interest groups, delivering presentations.
iv.
Effectively communicate event activity via social media channels and support marketing
efforts to broaden brand awareness in the higher education sector;
v.
Support the E-marketing, Customer Relationship Management, Communications Strategy
and SAE Extra on campus;
vi.
Deliver impeccable customer service for the enhancement of student experience
vii.
Increase SAE’s networking with first, second, third party contacts
viii.
Participate in the end of year shows
ix.
Support the Alumni & Events Officer in the organisation of graduation ceremonies
x.
Mentor and guide alumni chapter presidents.
4.
Key Performance Indicators:
i.
Effective implementation of organisation’s marketing and recruitment strategies;
ii.
Hitting targets for school visits/events according to the
sales and
marketing business
calendar;
iii.
Hitting targets for generating and converting leads in events – Open Days etc.;
iv.
Hitting monthly and quarterly targets for confirmed student numbers;
v.
Effective implementation of campus ‘keep warm’ activities;
vi.
Quality of service and information provided to leads.
5.
Selection Criteria:
Essential
i.
Bachelor’s degree;

ii.
Minimum of two years in a high-pressurised sales environment;
iii.
Strong account management skills, working with a CRM, preferably Salesforce;
iv.
Experience with planning and organising events;
v.
Engaging presentation skills;
vi.
Experience with managing networks via social media and other channels;
vii.
Experience and exposure in customer service;
viii.
Experience with market research;
ix.
Demonstrable abilities with Office suite or Mac environment;
x.
Excellent writing skills - compositionally and technically (grammar, spelling, punctuation);
xi.
Strong project management skills;
xii.
Possess commercial acumen and some industry awareness and knowledge of one or more of
the following areas: Audio, Gaming, Film Web or Animation;
xiii.
Excellent time management and prioritisation skills;
xiv.
Willingness to work occasional weekends and evenings;
xv.
Full working rights for the UK.
Desirable
i.
A sales or marketing or marketing qualification
ii.
Prior experience with Automated Marketing tools or CRM highly valued, especially Marketo
and Salesforce;
iii.
Previous experience in education environment highly valued;
iv.
A passion for the arts.
