MARKETING COORDINATOR AT THEATRE503
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape Theatre503’s brand under the leadership
of new Artistic Director Lisa Spirling. The Marketing Coordinator position has been
designed to give the theatre a designated marketer who can both support individual
productions and promote the overall brand of the theatre. The Coordinator will work
closely with the Senior Team reviewing our current marketing strategy and
developing a Communications Strategy for 2017-2019. A strong knowledge of arts
marketing is essential (theatre marketing in particular is ideal.)
Commitment: one day per week, with an initial six-month contract, and occasional
evening work as required. Working hours are flexible and can be spread over more
than one day if desired.
Salary: £21,750 pro rata

JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties include – but are not limited to – the following:
 Producing an integrated Marketing Strategy for 2017 – 2019 working alongside
the theatre’s PR.
 Developing pre-existing relationships and forging new links within the local
community and setting out a strategy for bringing in a local audience.
 Devising digital media guidelines with advice for engaging current and
potential audiences on digital media, and methods of tracking these results.
 Developing marketing templates, including for e-newsletters and season
brochures
 Being involved in the creation of our new website
 Leading on the marketing of Theatre503’s in-house productions, alongside our
Producer and Resident Assistant Producers
 Working with the Producer and Theatre503’s incoming companies to help
them devise their own show-specific marketing strategies.
 Monitoring spend on each element of a marketing campaign and ensure
maximum ROI is achieved.
 Actively participating in press nights and other events representing Theatre503

PERSON SPECIFICATION
ESSENTIAL
 Experience of implementing integrated marketing strategies.
 Experience of a target-driven approach to audience development
 Extensive experience using digital media communication as an audience
development tool and understanding of the digital cultural movement
 Good working knowledge of Spektrix or equivalent CRM
 Good understanding of Google Analytics and Silverpop
 At least two years’ experience in marketing
 Ability to manage a varied workload and deliver to deadline, and the ability to
work independently
PREFERABLE
 Experience in marketing for small organisations
 An interest in theatre generally, and new writing in particular
 A particular interest in engaging local arts audiences
 Experience of managing and/or supporting a team
 Graphic design skills and website skills (specifically Wordpress)
