The Environmental Change Institute at the University of Illinois is assembling a colloquium of
research scholars, business leaders, and policy makers to discuss the causes, effects and
consequences of agricultural practices on earth’s changing climate patterns.
OUR SUMMIT KEYNOTE:
Climate change over the next 50 years
Climatologist and meteorologist Mark Seeley, PhD, presents what climate changes science
indicates are anticipated in the next 50 years, and outlines implications to land use, landscape and
infrastructure. Dr. Seeley is Professor in the Department of Water, Soil and Climate at University
of Minnesota, author of Minnesota Weather Almanac and a regular contributor to Minnesota
Public Radio’s Morning Edition.
THE SUMMIT WILL SPOTLIGHT:
Mitigation strategies – Methods for alleviating adverse agricultural impacts on climate
Adapted practices – Changes in practices required to adapt to changes in climate
