Marketing, Communications and Public Relations
Committee
The members of the Marketing, Communications and Public Relations Committee manage the chapter’s external
communication efforts with our audience, potential event attendees, related interest groups and the media. They
develop and communicate the written and print materials used to publicize chapter activities and lead the chapter’s
marketing strategy.

Key owned responsibilities:







Maintain and update current marketing contacts/partnership database
Own outreach to local, national, and international media contacts for event-related marketing
Lead awareness efforts among local interest groups (e.g. local international development/non-profit YP
chapters, South Asian Students’ Associations, South Asian professional network organizations)
Launch and build Annual Gala Host Committee
Drive and track chapter’s marketing and social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) efforts
Assess current NYYP audience and create current demographic profile – create strategy to increase growth
within our current demographic and broaden our outreach
Lead quarterly newsletter efforts and work with other committees including Philanthropy, Event Planning
and Fundraising to develop content to with our audience
Key Shared Responsibilities







Lead email marketing and planning to communicate event invites
Create and implement email marketing calendar
Develop creative media content to engage our audience with regular AIF, AIF YP and Clinton Fellow
activities
Lead social media marketing and planning to communicate event invites and content
Create and implement social media marketing calendar
Assess current social media effectiveness and develop NYYP-tailored social media strategy (i.e. Facebook,
blogs, YouTube, etc.) to increase engagement and awareness
All council members are expected to support fundraising, development and marketing initiatives

Due to strong interest in each position, there are often many qualified candidates for a limited number of
positions. If we are not able to offer you a position on our Marketing Committee, would you be interested
