• He lived in the United
Kingdom.
• He was an architect,
naturalist, and scientist.

• He worked with
microscopes.

kind of tree bark.
• He discovered plant
cells in the bark.

piece of cork under
the microscope, he
saw tiny pores or
small compartments.
