Common Series as at June 30, 2017
FUND OVERVIEW
Asset Class: Canadian Equity
This ETF provides investors with exposure to a select group of 20 Canadian equity securities that exhibit low
beta (low sensitivity to market fluctuations) and high dividend yield characteristics. FDL has been designed
to replicate, to the extent possible, the performance of the CIBC Canadian Dividend Low Volatility Index,
which uses a proprietary rules-based methodology to select constituent securities from those trading on the
TSX that meet minimum market cap and average daily volume thresholds. Securities will be equally
weighted and rebalanced quarterly.

first published. Information regarding the CIBC index, including the applicable index methodology, is available at https://www.solactive.com/?s=CIBC. As a result of the risks and limitations
inherent in hypothetical performance data, hypothetical results may differ from actual Index performance.

to the S&P/TSX Composite Index with
better risk-adjusted returns than the
broader Canadian equity market
• Considerably higher dividend yield relative
to the market
• In order to be selected for inclusion,
securities must score well from both a low
volatility and a dividend yield perspective
(equal importance given to both)
• Ideal solution for conservative investors and/or
those looking to supplement their income in
today’s low yield environment

INDEX DESIGN & STRUCTURE
In order for stocks to be included in the Canadian Dividend Low Volatility portfolio, companies must exhibit low beta and high dividend
yield characteristics. Stocks in the Solactive Canandian stock universe are ranked based on both of these screens quarterly, ensuring that
the top 20 stocks with the highest composite scores are selected for inclusion. The Solactive Canadian stock universe consists of all TSX
listed companies that meet certain domicile, liquidity and other requirements. To ensure sufficient liquidity, all index constituents must have
at least a $2 billion market cap and $10 million of average daily dollar volume traded.
