Cells and Cell Kingdoms Unit Test Wednesday, December 17 th, 2014 • Define Eukaryotic cells and Prokaryotic cells. Identify the difference between Eukaryotic cells and Prokaryotic cells. • Identify examples of Prokaryotic cells a. Eubacteria – Also called Bacteria; smallest organism. b. Archeabacteria – Extremophiles • Identify examples of Eukaryotic cells -Many are multi‐cellular such as Plants, animals, protist, and fungi but can also be a single‐cell organisms (protists or yeast (fungi)). •Identify examples of Prokaryotic cells- all uni-cellular such as bacteria. • List the 6 stages of the cell cycle What are chromosomes and why are they important? Identify each stage of the cell cycle in a picture Order the stages from beginning to end (interphase to cytokinesis). Define what’s happening to the chromosomes or the nucleus in each stage of mitosis. • Know the definitions for Bacteria, Protist, Fungi, Autotroph, Heterotroph , Nucleus , Binary Fission, Mitosis, Multicellular, Unicellular, Sexual Reproduction, Asexual Reproduction, Prokaryote, Eukaryote, Vertebrate, Invertebrate, Bilateral, Radial, Asymmetrical, and symmetry. • Use vocabulary words to analyze a new situation: (For example be able to look at a picture and explain what type of symmetry it has or if it is a heterotroph or autotroph, ect. • Identify examples of invertebrates and vertebrates • Be able to label and describe the Anatomy terms: Dorsal, Ventral, Lateral, Cranial, Caudal, Distal, Proximal, Posterior, Anterior •Place the organization of living things in order from lowest to highest cell tissue organ organ system organism or from highest to lowest organization. •Be able to identify or give examples of each level of organization. Focus on the frog and worm •Explain the ideas that cells are specialized and that organism have adaptations that help them survive. (See study island reading) •Compare the frog’s, worms, and human’s digestive system. •Be able to discuss the follow information about each kingdom Archea Type of Cells: Prokaryote or Eukaryote Number of cells: Unicellular, Multicellular, both Energy: Hetertroph, Autotroph, both Environment found Reproduction: Sexual, asexual, both Eubacteria Protist Fungi Plant Animal
