of XBrain™ Whey
Protein supplement
in Xbrain’s
convenient Ultimate
Whey combopack.
Whey protein is
generally
considered to be the
best protein
supplement for
bodybuilders, active
people, and athletes
looking to maximise
their muscle gain.
XBrain™ Whey
Protein is superior to
many other
supplements, since
it is made from milk
produced by free
range, grassfed
cows that have not
been treated with
hormones,
antibiotics, or GMO
products. As a
protein concentrate
it contains bioactive,
beneficial proteins,
which have not
been denatured by
heat or acids. The
combopack gives
you four flavours of
the supplement,
banana, chocolate,
vanilla, and
strawberry for
variety and
convenience.
Proteins are
absolutely essential
for muscle gain,
since muscle fibres
consist mainly of
proteins.
Bodybuilders,
athletes, and active
people require much
more protein than
those leading
sedentary lifestyles.
Whey protein,
obtained from milk
as a byproduct of
cheese making, is
considered one of
the best forms of
protein available. It
contains all the
essential amino
acids, the building
blocks of proteins
that cannot be
synthesised in your
body and must be
obtained from the
diet.
It also contains a
high level of the
branched chain
amino acids
(BCAA), which
have important
signalling functions
through the mTOR
pathway. BCAA
amino acids,
especially leucine,
stimulated amino

acid uptake and
protein synthesis. They can also
decrease feelings of
fatigue during a
workout, since they
compete with
another amino acid,
tryptophan for
transport across the
bloodbrain barrier.
Tryptophan is
necessary for the
synthesis of the
neurotransmitter
5HT, which floods
the central nervous
system during
intense exercise
and contributes to
feelings of fatigue.
Branched chain
amino acids,
therefore, can
increase endurance
and mental focus
during your
workout. Whey
protein is also rich in
the amino acid
cysteine, which is
necessary to
synthesise the
tripeptide
glutathionine, a
powerful
antioxidant.
Xbrain’s XBrain™
Whey Protein is 50%
protein, of which
almost 20% is
branched chain
amino acids. Whey
proteins include
betalactoglobulin,
alphalactalbumin,
immunoglobulins and
lactoferrin. Recent
preclinical studies
have suggested that
these proteins have
a host of potential
health benefits,
including boosting
the immune system,
antiinflammatory
action, and even
anticancer
properties.
However, these
proteins only have
bioactivity in whey
concetrates, like
Xbrain’s
supplements. In
whey isolates or
hyrolysates, the
proteins have been
denatured because
of the high
temperatures and
chemical processing
methods used.
XBrain™ Whey
Protein is
manufactured using
very mild
processes, and
avoiding high
temperature, to
ensure that the
bioactive proteins in
whey retain their
secondary structure
and their activity.
Proteins are vey
sensitive to high
temperature or pH
extremes. These
conditions, which
are used to purify
whey proteins in
other preparations,
make them lose their
structure, and
therefore their
activity. Hydrolysing
the proteins breaks
them down into
smaller peptides,
which again lose the
properties of the
whole proteins.
Although whey
hydrolysates are
supposed to have a
higher bioavailability,
studies show that
they are not
absorbed any better
than concentrates.
Whey protein
concentrates, such
as Xbrain’s, which
is prepared through
a gentle filtration
process, not only
deliver high levels of
essential amino
acids, but also the
whole proteins
found in milk whey,
which have their
own health benefits.
XBrain™ Whey
Protein is almost
completely organic,
the powder is
98.3% organic
material, as it is
made from organic
milk. Since it is
produced from free
range grassfed
cattle, it is
completely free of
unnatural growth
hormones,
antibiotics, GMO
foods, or pesticides,
and is much
superior to
supplements made
from milk from
intensely farmed
cows.
XBrain™ Whey
Protein has no
added sugar,
instead it is
sweetened naturally
with the stevia herb.
The carbohydrate
present is in the
form of the milk
sugar, lactose.
Lactose has a much
lower glycaemic
index than sugar
(sucrose), and will
not cause spikes in
your blood sugar
level. It will also
support the
beneficial lactic acid
probiotic bacteria in
your intestines,
which use it as a
carbon source.
Even though the
filtration process
used to make whey
concentrates does
not remove milk
lipids efficiently,
XBrain™ Whey
Protein only has 4g
of saturated fat per
100g of powder, it is
therefore, not a high
fat product. It
certainly has less
fat, and is far more
convenient, than the
equivalent amount of
meat, which you
would need to
consume to obtain
the necessary
amino acids.
Directions
For adults, blend
50g (two scoops) of
powder into 400
500 ml of liquid. You
can use water, your
favourite juice, milk,
or even yogurt. Use
a hand blender to
achieve a very
smooth result. You
can consume at any
time during the day,
to increase your
consumption of
amino acids,
however to gain the
maximum benefit
from BCAA, whey
protein shakes
should be sipped
during or after
exercise.
Xbrain’s Ultimate
Whey combopack
combines all four
flavours of XBrain™
Whey
Protein supplements,
banana, strawberry,
chocolate, and
vanilla. This will
introduce variety
into your protein
supplementation
program, decreasing
boredom. XBrain™
Whey
Protein powders are
whey protein
concentrates made
from organic milk
from freerange
grassfed animals,
and contains non
denatured, bioactive
lactoglobulin,
lactalbumin, and
immunoglobulin
proteins, which
have many potential
health benefits.
Almost 20% of the
amino acids in the
supplement by
weight are the
branched chain
amino acids, leucine,
isoleucine and
valine. BCAA amino
acids play important
functions in cell
signalling, activating
pathways which
stimulate protein
synthesis, and
increasing
endurance and
mental focus.
