Climate Friendly is an experienced and innovative developer of projects under the Australian
Government’s Carbon Farming Initiative (CFI), drawing on the expertise of our global partner South
Pole Carbon, the world’s largest developer of carbon finance projects.
Working with landowners and businesses, we have successfully developed projects across four
project types including avoided deforestation, forest regeneration, savannah burning and waste
diversion, making Climate Friendly one of the most diversified project originators in Australia.
Supported by funding from the Australian Government, Climate Friendly has also developed a
website that shares information on carbon farming called mycarbonfarming. More information is at

The Role
Carbon Farming Spatial Analyst
•
Manage and implement the Australian Projects GIS Program including ensuring KPIs within
the program are met, providing the first point of call for all client managers, presenting GIS
findings to project auditors and assistance with GIS tasks including stratification.
•
Lead the GIS program to ensure effective task allocation and efficient task completion
especially for project due diligence.
•
Management of GIS team members.
•
Assistance with urgent forest cover checks and stratification as required.
•
Primary contact for discussions with the auditor on GIS matters.

Due diligence carbon assessment for new projects.

Preferably Sydney-based, but willing to consider other locations
•
12 month contract
•
Reporting to the Manager Australian Projects.

You
This is a challenging role that would suit a person with a combination of good people management
and spatial analysis skills. You possess relevant tertiary qualifications, preferably in forestry, GIS,
science or engineering and have at least three years of professional work experience including
working in the carbon offset project cycle either as a project developer, auditor, Regulator or
consultant.
You have expertise in the forestry and land use sector including direct experience with ArcGIS and
