SNC2D: Biology – Cells, Tissues and Living Systems
Name _____________
Microviewer Lab Activity
Make scientific drawings for 2 different cells. Choose one red blood cell and one respiration
cell. The drawing must be done to scale. Draw only a few cells. Use solid lines, no shading but
stippling is encouraged. Be sure to carefully record the magnification. Label the parts of your
cell.
Guidelines for biological drawings
Criterion
Used sharp lead pencil
Title and required data recorded
Properly labelled parts placed on right side
A ruler used to draw all label lines
No label lines cross
Stippling indicates darker areas, not shading
Magnification clearly recorded
Cells of Your Body (Set 10): Blood Cell (#2)
Magnification _______________
1. Which cells are larger and have nuclei?
2. Which types of blood cells are more abundant?
SNC2D: Biology – Cells, Tissues and Living Systems
Human Respiratory System (Set 72): Epithelial lining cells (#4) or Air Sacs (#5)
Magnification _______________
1. What the function of the goblet cells (see description of #4)?
2. What is another name (scientific terminology) for the air sacs (see description of #5)?
