The NutraVine™ Company was founded upon the development and formulation of the most

Manapol®? How was it discovered? And what does Manapol® do for our health?
The Aloe vera plant has been used medicinally for thousands of years, and is mentioned fondly in some of the
world’s most ancient writings. In the Bible book of Numbers, Chapter 24, verse 5 - 6, the prophet speaks: “How beautiful
are your tents, O Jacob, your dwelling places, O Israel! Like valleys they spread out, like gardens beside a river, like
Aloes planted by the Lord Himself, like cedars beside the waters.” King Solomon equated the aloes with the choicest
fruits, myrrh, and all the finest spices. However, modern science had been unable to document the active principle of
healing reported to be found in the Aloe vera plant.
With the research and discoveries of Dr. Clinton Howard, Ph.D., the founder of Carrington Laboratories, Irving,
Texas, Dr. Bill McAnalley, Ph.D., Dr. Reginald McDaniel, M.D., and Dr. Robert Carpenter, D.V.M., the mystery of the Aloe
vera L. plant began to be unlocked. For the first time in recorded history, the structure of the illusive healing molecule in
the Aloe vera was scientifically identified, studied, and documented in hundreds and thousands of tests. In the early
1980’s, Dr. McAnalley discovered that the therapeutic action of the Aloe vera plant gel was due to a uniquely structured,
biologically active mucilaginous polysaccharide called a “polymannan.” This polymannan is a naturally-occurring
“mannose” carbohydrate, which would easily break down by a plant enzyme within hours of harvest time if not
stabilized, destroying its functional capacity. It was discovered that the Aloe vera gel needed to be carefully separated
from the leaf skin, in order to avoid the undesirable “laxative” effect from anthraquinones found in the surface of the outer
leaf. Then, the inner gel was carefully processed using freeze-drying techniques, preserving the natural goodness found
in the fresh Aloe vera gel.
Carrington was able to develop and patent new proprietary processing techniques that deactivated the destructive
enzyme, thus preserving the rich complex carbohydrates naturally found in fresh Aloe vera gel. The traditional method of
producing Aloe vera products uses excessive heat and filtration to produce a product which consists of simple sugars, low
molecular weight components, and contains the laxative anthraquinones. However, the patented Carrington process uses
no heat to extract and purify the active healing principle of the Aloe vera polymannans, and produces a freeze-dried
powder which is called “Acemannan” and “Manapol®.” The FDA has issued over 70 patents to Carrington
Laboratories, on both the active Aloe vera molecule itself and on the method and process of stabilization of the Aloe
polymannan.
The properties of the Aloe vera polymannans have proven to be even more remarkable than the early researchers
had imagined possible, and further research continues to verify the healing properties of the Manapol®. Through the
research efforts of Dr. Robert Davis, Dr. Ivan Danhof, Dr. Ian Tizard, Dr. Allen Hoffman, and others, the nutrient-rich
Manapol® was proven to have an ability to stimulate and strengthen the immune system. Dr. Wendell Winters,
Associate Professor of Microbiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center, has conducted research on Aloe vera
and Manapol® for over 15 years. He states, “We think of Aloe as a pharmacy in a plant.” According to Dr. Winters,
researchers have identified a substance in Manapol® that causes cells to divide and multiply, stimulating growth of
white blood cells and other immune-function cells. Medical research studies have shown that the Manapol® has wound
healing and anti-inflammatory properties needed by the body to repair cellular functions. The research of Dr. Ivan
Danhof has shown that some agents contained in the Manapol® stimulate positive cell growth in the retina, thus
preventing some forms of blindness. Dr. Reginald McDaniel has discovered that the Acemannan acts as an inhibitor of
the AIDS virus replication process, and that the Manapol® can stimulate bone marrow activity, promoting wound
healing, inhibiting tumor growth, and normalizing the immune system of those with auto-immune disease.
The Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA), passed by Congress in 1994, permits the regulation
claim of “enhancing the immune system” to be made about the Manapol®. As recently as November, 1999, Carrington
Laboratories was granted a patent for the use of Manapol® in lowering and regulating cholesterol levels and in
removing plaque from blood vessels, which further enhances the vascular system. According to statistics from the
American Heart Association, an estimated 98 million American adults have high blood cholesterol levels, with 39 million
considered in the very high risk category. Cholesterol can build up in the walls of the arteries and can cause plaque to
form, narrowing or blocking the arteries, often resulting in a heart attack, stroke, or other serious vascular disease.
Manapol® has been proven by documented research to offer the consumer a natural way to maintain healthy
cholesterol levels and remove plaque from blood vessels, without all the side effects which exist with the current

While the Manapol® Aloe vera seems to be a miracle food supplement, it needs a “carrier” molecule in order
for the Manapol® to be fully absorbed and assimilated by the liver and other digestive organs. When combined with
an essential fatty acid carrier molecule, the Manapol® is more fully utilized by the immune system, and it also becomes
most beneficial to the digestive system itself, eliminating the symptoms of indigestion, reflux, heartburn, irritable
