To support the delivery of the vision and strategic objectives of Canterbury Museums and Galleries. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES To support the implementation the Marketing Strategy and Audience Development Plan, providing an excellent marketing service that supports the delivery of the Museums and Galleries Strategy. To assist the Head of Marketing and Audiences in identifying and developing new initiatives, audiences and markets. To develop and input content for The Beaney and Canterbury Museums and Galleries websites, ensuring consistency of brand application. To populate and distribute regular Canterbury Museums and Galleries e-newsletters. To maintain the Data Management System, involving liaison with both internal and external partners. To develop online engagement through Social Media, building a community of support for Canterbury Museums and Galleries. To include attendance at exhibitions and 1 Page 1 of 3 JD Template October 2013 events to immediately capture and market their impact. To support the delivery of excellent visitor service for The Visitor Information Centre. To produce, manage and develop digital marketing campaigns alongside advertising campaigns. To co-ordinate the production of editorial and advertising copy as and when required. To support the Head of Marketing and Audiences in the development and marketing of the Patrons and Members schemes. To form effective partnerships with colleagues in the local, regional and national heritage and cultural industries. To update and build the image library to ensure the provision and distribution of requisite stock photography. To provide an excellent level of customer service through the provision of information by post, telephone, fax, email and in person and to answer general queries. Special Circumstances. The Museum is a 7 day operation and regularly hosts events outside its core hours. Flexibility to work on weekends, public holidays and before/after public hours is therefore required. To carry out other duties commensurate with the grade and skills of the post holder as may be directed The duties of the post are subject to review and in this respect the details contained are provided as an aid to performance of the contract of employment REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES Knowledge Skills Experience Knowledge of digital Marketing, including e-promotions and social media. Knowledge of publishing and design programmes, e.g., Photoshop Well developed ICT skills, particularly in the use of MS Office applications, databases and web based content management systems. Good written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively and in partnership with colleagues and external organizations, building relationships to further strategic objectives. Experience of working in a marketing environment, preferably within the cultural and/ or heritage sector. Qualifications Experience of developing audiences through marketing. NATURE OF CONTACTS Direct frequent contact with Head of Marketing and Audience Development and Head of Programming and Collections. Internal Develops and maintains close working relationships with colleagues across the Museums and Galleries team. Other CCC departments, including Canterbury City Council Finance department.
